Anyway. Yes, I agree. The moral outrage to Gove (and Kinnock and Humphries finding it funny and the live audience finding it funny) was ridiculous, but a depressingly typical sign of the times we now seem to live in. The comment was no different to the stuff you hear on ‘Have I Got News For You’ or its many imitator shows.

A word used so often nowadays. Some MPs are outraged by Goves joke about Weinstein. Yet are not outraged by British citizens returning from fighting alongside ISIS. and being allowed back in even though they might of murdered and or raped innocent people. We're outraged enough that people who are returning are subject to arrest and conviction for terrorist offences (which have universal jurisdiction - meaning the UK can try people for crimes committed whilst serving with IS). Of course the problem is always knowing who was with IS etc. I'm not sure what being outraged would achieve in this instance, given that the intelligence, border and security services, special branch and the police are all operating on identifying people who were part of IS and arresting them. Its not like there's nothing going on there. Gove, yeah, making jokes about a serial sex offender - as a politician isn't particularly clever, and likely offensive - especially given the UK police are actively investigating several allegations that took place in the UK. We've even been involved with killing a few of them whilst they've been out there.
