David Moyes might have a different view about Zaha's 'playing' ability in spite of him scoring quite a few (so the rumours go )

Wasn't he Fergie's last signing ? no better endorsement

I agree, I saw someone say that Lombardo was out most technically gifted player. Lombardo as good as he was could have only dreamed of doing some of the things that Wilf Can do with the ball.

Love Zaha. But wrighty used to do a couple of tricks and then score, had a winning edge to him , scored all sorts of goals (the hatrick at Plough Lane ), was as much as a precocious talent as Zaha but with the right amount of spite fullness. Doubt we will see the like of him again, turned it on in the massive games (sub in the cup final).

Honestly it is like comparing Carlo Nash to Nigel Martyn. Just wrong

so much of your opinion is floored, one Carlo only played 21 games for us but he did gets us promotion, Super Nigel 370 games so your right you cant compare,
Sally 220 games Wilf about the same, goals about the same, sadly you cant find stats for when Sally played regarding crosses but from watching him play in at least a 100 of them, he was 10 times better crosser better defender than Wilf,
Wilf is one of the most exciting players we have at the moment, but he still has along way to go to become a great but i do think he will get there

Is that the same one who was the pride of our alley?

For me, he's our best ever. We had the team of 1990/91 which was obviously excellent but Wilf is just a different breed. The fact he's an academy player makes me a bit biased towards him but on ability he's nearly unrivalled. Certainly the best of my lifetime but i wasnt around for the 'better' days...

If he is our best i have my doubts, specially if he cant score into a empty net from 12 yards...

Nah - Wright was just as fast and had as much skill but he also had a well developed football brain and immense finishing power.

Well obviously normally he'd be nailed on to put that away. That he missed it once is quite different from saying he can't.

As much as i hate to say it, Wright was better than Wilf. Yannick was better too and was improving ahead of Wilf until he got injured. Vince Hilaire was better than all of them. Tricks and pace he had back then is why i used to turn up every week as a kid to watch him.
