Bot Arsenal & Man City made more than one substitution in extra time in the EFL Cup this week when the rules say only one is allowed in extra time. The Now it is the be decided whether the result stays as it is, a replay or disqualification for Arsenal & Man City. For me I wouldn't be surprised if the decision is a complete fudge by handing a fine to both clubs.
The pyramid to beat all pyramids!! Find out what team is in which division, eg which division is Coppull United in? |

As far as I'm concerned this is the refs fault.

It's no ones fault and no action is going to be taken because they didn't break the rules. The rule just says that they can only use the additional sub in extra time, not that they can't use any others. Loads of teams have already made 2+ subs in the competition this season.

Yes you're right I see in the 1st round Brentford made two subs in ET in the 97 & 99 mins. Perhaps rules have been broken from the beginning and the whole competition will have to start from the beginning! and our match against Bristol City is null and void.

I suspect that I may not be alone in saying that I have no wish at all to play Bristol City again in the EFL cup even if that were even possible.

The only bits that are likely to be declared null and void are the bits between van Aanholt's left ear and his right.

So long as they didn't use 4 subs during the 90 minutes then I don't think they have done anything wrong. However if there was something wrong, the ref and or 4th official should have noticed it at the time. Much as Arse and Citeh being disqualified would be amusing, I can't see it happening.
It's 106 miles to Chicago, we got a full tank of gas, half a pack of cigarettes, it's dark... and we're wearing sunglasses. |
