I don't quite get this instant pessimism after what has happened in the Carabao Cup this week. Ok so the performance at Bristol City was abysmal, but apart from Loftus Cheek, Hennessey and Sako, none of the other players that played that night will be anyway near the first eleven come this Saturday when we play West Ham. All our regulars were left at home, so are hardly going to have been affected by events on Tuesday. They will only remember the great performance against Chelsea, and a decent performance up at Newcastle without reward. West Ham won a Cup game!! yes a Cup game, it can happen. Tottenham rested a few, including Harry Kane. What i'm saying is its a clean slate on Saturday and providing we play with the same intensity as against Chelsea, we are more than capable of winning

I agree 100%, That game means nothing towards the rest of our season. Id go as far as saying that none of that starting 11 are first choice.
RLC has a lot going for him but is much too casual with the ball and that will be found out in the league. For every good thing he does he does 3 things wrong.

We just need a touch of luck with injuries and we will be fine.

What that game does mean, and I wish it didn't, is that there's something seriously wrong, psychologically, with the squad. The worry is that the attitude we saw from 90% of Tuesday's team will infect the first team.
I have seen its like before. It's a cancer and needs cutting out now.

Winning isn't everything. Without the defeats we would not value the victories. Still, it's a shame we can't play Chelsea every week.

Got the impression that Roy viewed it that way and was unimpressed by the performance in a big way.
