14th June, 12.23pm.

'Hopefully it'll be concluded soon and not same old same, playing catch up with not only player recruitment but new manager also having to assess them first. Love to make it difficult for ourselves and starting with a handicap don't we? It's as if it's boring having it all in shape in July, just like a gambler gets as much a thrill of losing, just a different kind of thrill.'

8th June, 11pm and the night before your find, Midlands:

'Marco Silva had a similarly sh1t team and almost stayed up.

I agree we need a manager who can work with the players.

Is that Dyche? (I have money on him at long odds)

Is that Pellegrino? (I have an equal bet on him too)

Or is it Sammy Lee, who has worked with Pellegrino?

(I had money on Silva at similar odds and stake)

As long as it's not Hodgson, regardless of my bets.'

(I thought Hodgson was too old and still may be)

Then at 9am on 9th June and minutes before Midlands's find:

'3 possibles and odds much much longer than 2/1. Over double figures actually. If Woy or anyone other than those 3 get it I lose money but I bet quite a bit so it won't lose me sleep.'

See there you are. I identified 3 possibles and felt confident Parish would use logic and use that kind of logic. Alas, no. Roy was never an awful hire. I've spoken to someone who's worked with him and thinks he'll do well. What that results in is difficult to tell and probably limited through no fault of his own. But he's just over 70 and it's high pressured.

To be fair, as much as your constant moaning has been driving me nuts lately I can vouch what you've said above rings true in my memory.

You didn't want Frank but after we signed and after much debating you did get behind him and did want him to succeed

Selsdon Juniors. Suit him down to the ground. Havecthe best players in the area, blind them with a load of bollox for 2 hours twice a week and can't fail to win a few trophies.

Thank you, Goldfiinger. That is how it happened. The philosophy article you can't argue with but you can doubt we can do it but hope we do seeing as he's already been hired. I didn't post one post saying I wanted him hired and didn't place one pound on him being hired.

I thought when he was hired that I was the fool for not hedging on a 4th potential manager. Months later I saw the 1st sacking odds during the summer friendlies but didn't feel like it even though Frank was 25/1. Felt stupid again when he was sacked when remembering that 25/1 moment but at least the original bet was correct in some kind of way (it didn't work).

I want any manager to succeed or stay in the job because if not then we're in the sh1t (same for Pardew). I even wanted a game by game appraisal after Burnley but I would've been secretly contacting other managers whilst Frank was hopefully bringing a trickle of points in whilst creating a training ground atmosphere we're not ready for without real competition for places.
