I'd like to see Lokilo (if he's not out on loan) and Ladapo given a chance against Bristol City.

Is Nya Kirby still on England duty? Would be good to see him play.

I'd agree not to play the West Ham starters. Although RLC might be worth 45mins.

Would actually start some of the development squad with a look to the future rather than the past.

Hennessey
Fosu Mensah, Michael Phillips, Tomkins, Souare
Dreher, RLC, Riedewald
Wan-Bissaka, Ladapo, Kaikai

Would look at Bissaka and Kaikai on the wings with Ladapo in the center. Phillips in defence with the experience of Mensah, Tomkins and Souare shouldn't be to risky. And Dreher or one of the other development midfielders along side RLC and Riedewald.

Understand Wan-Bissaka played wing back during the summer but I think he also plays further up in a Wilf type roll, apologies if I'm wrong on that.

Anyway don't see much point us playing Kelly as he's fourth choice behind Tomkins and we know what he can do. Likewise Punch, Lee and Sako. Not saying they all haven't got a role to play at some point coming off the bench but personally I'd love to see the manager getting to know our younger players in a proper competitive match.

Hopefully I haven't picked anyone who's out on loan!?

Bissaka is a full back/wing back

Lokilo played for the U23's so possibly not.

I think it'll be something like...

WH

TFM Kelly Tomkins PvA

Kai Kai Riedewald Puncheon Lee

Zaha Sako

Zaha needs game time to get his match fitness up and sharpness back, so I could see him playing a part, or alternatively we might see RLC. I don't think Roy fancies Ladapo so I expect to see Sako replacing Townsend. The four in midfield are generally bench warmers now which would fit in in with what was said in the presser. In defence/GK I think the only position that is under question is LB as Roy said he wants to look at Kelly and Tomkins and TFM needs game time.

I don't expect to see many youth players on show as strikers aside we have a fully-fit squad and I expect Roy will make use of that.

As my post said my understanding is although he's played in a wing back role he's also played further forward. And I've read some see him as a future winger.

Maybe wrong on that but read it somewhere.

Whatever the team is, hopefully Hennessy will be in goal, because being the league cup, that'll mean Uncle Roy will have him firmly down now as our number 2

Think he's actually gone the other way. He's a converted winger. Could do s job but we've a few out and out wingers that should play ahead of him. Lokilo, kaikai, lumeka

Damn it, I should have sent Roy my team sheet without PvA on it!
