I believe Labour also trebled the fees from £1000 to £3000 and then the coalition further trebled them. So basically they’ve ALL got form for trebling fees.

If you want to get ahead and a good start,if you want to be above others i think its fair you pay for your own "higher education" .
Whether it should be as high as it is,is another matter.
As i have said before this notion that 50% of the population should go to uni is bollocks,bring back technology college's and teach some trades.

According to wiki (I know!) the Student Loans Company is a not for profit organisation owned and funded entirely by the UK and devolved governments? Doesn’t strike me that’s privatised but I did skim read it.
Edit - I do get that the Govt is looking (or may have) flogged old student debt but if there’s no change to terms etc I can’t see how that’s much of an issue. (But I’m not a student).
