Isn't that actually his job. I'm a manager and my employers, give me a set of objectives and undertakings to achieve, along with things like budgets - and my job is to achieve them (or at least present why they're not achievable and negotiate around budget, objectives, personnel so on and so forth). The idea that for some reason people should just hand over the full economic and decision making reins of the club, to a sub-contracted employee, who has no real personal consequence for their decisions, is insane in any business or organisation. No one's asking or would expect him to give complete economic and decision making reins over crystal palace football club, but there's more rumours and noise comming out that parish gets far too involved with the footballing decisions that go on at our club. I think his generally a decent owner and seems a decent bloke but I've never agreed with owners trying to undermine the football manager. Employ a manager, set him targets for the season, a budget to stick to and that's it. If he's failing sack him, if not let him get on with his job.

Hi, I in no way want to doubt other HOLers who know more than me - but where did this information that it was Parish who wanted Pardew to change our playing style come from? I must have missed this. An interview with pardew.

The reason BFS left is because his wife's best friend got killed in the Manchester bomb, just a couple of days before his meeting with SP. She needed his support, he did not need the grief or ££. Originally posted by OneWayTicketToMars

You may be right, or not. What I think you can conclude is they were too close. They didn't challenge each other. Jedi. Not replaced. Left back. Did they just agree with each other? Did neither raise the scenario of Souare being injured? Players do get injured. Did Pardew have a date and Parish a hairdressers appointment? Couldn't tell you but maybe parish needs to change hairdressers because he must of had another one when it came to signing a back up option for benteke.

Pardew was sacked following his attempt to put square pegs into round holes. Why then was FBD hired, a guy who played the same way?
