It was men against boys, if you watch the top teams, they work very hard to get possession back. We just stand off them and fall back.
They were in total control of the game and didn't bother in the second half after the second goal went in.

Agreed, I was really disappointed with how no one tracked Lukaku for their fourth goal. JR PVA and Luka were all just jogging back. If they do that all season, we're down.

If you score after 2 minutes against a team that isn't going to score in return, why bother getting out of third gear? Utd weren't amazing, but the fact that they scored 4 and were never remotely threatened by us (unlike City in the first half) tells you everything you need to know about us.

It was embarrassing. Conceding so early showed no bottle. I am confident we can find our form soon. A number of players need to get a grip and play with some fight....

I take all the positives I can. 1st half vs City and 2nd half at Old Trafford showed we're not that bad, but you can tell as soon as we approach the opposition box the Eagles stop flying. Scared for smt unfamiliar - the ball in the net, I guess...

This∆

All things considered, it wasn't all that bad and every set piece we got left me nursing a semi ..but wouldn't go as far as saying the score flattered United...

I'm just tired of seeing us concede early/late in any given half....I still haven't got over how confusing Sunderland at home was whilsts I was waiting to get served in the Glaziers....

Can't we play 6-3-1 for the first/last 10 minutes of each half....

like making love.... better to have a slow start and finish strong than the other way round...

I'll be hurting if we haven't got ourselves sorted before our trip to the weed....A 100% nailed down must win.

I've just had time to dust myself down and i recorded the whole game as it was Sky Sports pick for game of the day. We actually played quite well again!!! It was another strange game. They were just ruthless when the chances came their way (something we lack in the final third at the moment) But some of our possession play was very good and we need to remind ourselves we were missing 8 players!!! Those goals either side of half time killed the game off, but it was fairly even for the most part. I really think we need to calm down, and a couple of wins i'm sure will breed some confidence within the ranks and we can start moving up the table. We were certainly not battered yesterday

Its good to have an upbeat, sensible assessment, thanks Glazier!

I was dreading the abuse I expected from the Manc I work with (he’s from there & gets to most games). To my surprise he also said the score flattered them and that we gave them as good a game as Leicester who, in his and his mates opinions, are the best team they’ve played in the EPL at home this season.

It doesn’t change the result but gives me a little more hope.

Funnily enough, he also said quite the opposite of others comments on here. His lot reckon Mourinho is no longer playing a holding/counter-attacking game as they dropped so many points doing it last year. This season it’s been about putting teams to the sword - just keep attacking & scoring. They reckon it’s partly due to last season’s failings & the fact their neighbours are smashing teams out of sight - there’s no love lost between Pep & Jose.

Will this be five? It's gonna be five! It IS five!

No it did not. You are clutching at straws mate. They played in second gear and if needed would have upped it and hammered us anyway. Did we have any decent chances....? Should have had a pen and a first goal but even that was not to be.

Let's stop killing ourselves. There nothing to gain from posts like this. But we lose a little more dignity. I want Palace to just play some decent football and prepare for next season. No fuss, no obsessing about what might have been. Just honest hard work without expectation. From such little acorns......
