😁 Judge sent Catalan politicians to prison today, 50.000€ bail, more of my txes will be used for this farce. Puigdemont on the run, all a bit latin if you ask me. How could they not send them to prison, when 5 of them have already absconded. Puigdemont and the other 4 sealed the fate of those that went to court. I don't see why their supporters can't see that a political crime, is still a crime. On the plus side the students and others who were protesting about tourism and AirBnB etc might get their desire for a quieter region now.

Arguably denying them bail was a bit excessive and heavy handed. I'm a bit torn - arguably I think they've done nothing really wrong other than represent their constituents (being as they are the Independence movement). On the other hand, they've broken the law, but its not really a case that they had much choice in the matter.

Puigdemont sealed their fate by doing similar before even going to court. They haven't represented their constituents, they might have arguably represented 38% of them. They have 100% broken the law though.
