Parish with his blinkered vision and not learning from similar sized clubs same mistakes in the past thought/still thinks he can buy his way to Prem survival. We are Crystal Palace. Every time we have thrived in the past it has been a mix of a great goalkeeper, home-grown talent and some very well scouted cheap talent and a couple of experienced old hands thrown in. All hungry players, no big-time Charlies and all focused in the same direction. The £££ has made the Chairman forget all that. Oh, Stevie boy, thanks for saving the club, but wtf have you done to us these last two and a half years? You have fvcked with our identity. You have been very foolish. Keep the faith guys, let's get these two games out of the way, hope get some surprise points, then we kick on and get out of this mess. Nothing we can do about the striker situation, but what we can do is lift the players we have. f*** sake guys, what happened to some of you?? We're palace , let's do what we do best and stop winging!

I thought that is exactly what some people on here already do best.

what a bonkers post. Whatever makes you think that relegation is a strategy for Premier League sustainability? It's the exact opposite of what we need to do. "Are we really to expect Palace will go on, season after season, scrambling for whatever points they can manage, paying huge amounts on gambles and seeing the manager turnstile as the most active?" - this is exactly what we are doing at the moment and is the only short term strategy Parish knows. If Woy isn't doing the job by the end of the year you can expect to see a third manager in place this season in a last-ditch rescue effort. Parish won't subscribe to relegation if there's anything he can do to avoid it.

I still think that we'll be fine. Really looking forward to not only us proving the footballing world wrong again, but also Roy proving his detractors wrong as well. He's a real gent and also knows his stuff much more than most of the idiots who put him down give him credit for.

Running out of time and games or injuries might do him and, if so, won't be his fault.

If the basis of your game is solid defending so that you can counter quickly then paying top dollar for a top quality centre-back makes perfect sense to me. It's not as if he'll be standing about doing nothing all season. The problem is that we have half a dozen other roles that needed strengthening and in that kind of strategy the other place you need to spend money is at centre-forward - if you're not going to create that many attacks you want to convert the ones you do. We currently don't have a fit senior centre-forward. Buying Sakho isn't the reason for that; the reason is not getting our arse in gear.

Is doing things differently buying a defender for £27million or whatever it was? It was a ridiculous transfer, one which Parish has already attempted to blame the fans for, and it will look even more ridiculous if we end up in the championship with Mamadou Sakho on our books! We won't be relegated and Sakho will be one of the reasons.....next?
