Plenty of time yet to put everything right. S**t start is pretty much Palace - We've been in relegation positions in all but one of our five seasons in the top flight, at the start of the season, and usually nailed on certs by October November, only to turn it around - Each time ending up with a pretty decent final position in the league. We're minnows in a shark tank, and we will never be able to really compete with about 60% of the teams in this league, in terms of attraction and finance - Not without becoming an acquisition of a financial power house as either a rich mans toy, a money laundering object or status symbol (and in doing so become another faceless premiership club). We are always going to struggle, we will always be at risk of relegation.

You can't keep relying on miracles each season to save you. This season we have a squad as thin as paper, already changing managers after less than 6 games and have the worst start in premier league history. Can't see us escaping this one, in fact I think it's more likely we will end up with the lowest points total in history at the end of the season,

Derby only won once and scored just 20 goals. We really need to better this. As BelfastEagle said you can't keep relying on miracles year after year. This maybe our year although I still think we'll get out of it somehow.
The ups and downs of Palace have left me older than my years |

Pulis and Pardew did remarkable things. I keep telling myself to remember just what Roy did in keeping Fulham up. They were all but mathematically relegated that season, having to win all their remaining games - even coming from 2-0 down to Man City to win. If we have Fulham Roy - We'll be ok.

Love it that Robbie Savage was in the worst ever Premier League side.

This maybe our year although I still think we'll get out of it somehow. That era was the strongest the premiership has ever been, English sides were the best in Europe, we had 3 of the 4 champions league semi finalists, teams coming up used to aim to finish 4th bottom, Wolves famously didn't even bother to play man utd away. It's not nearly as strong today so you won't see a team like Derby hopelessly out of their depth

This may be the year we go down but I'm sure it will be close. This is a decent team with a load of bad luck and management, but this squad is too strong to do a derby.

i have visions of Roy Castle blowing into his trumpet, and singing 'record breakers'
