Perhaps they're turning it into a fight club.

Huddersfield's academy costs £1.2 Mill a year to run and the only current player to have come through it is Philip Billing who came over from Denmark when he was 16.In terms of transfers out of the club, Huddersfield have only made around £4.5 Million from selling academy players since 1999. Huddersfield setting themselves up to be the new Watford / Wigan / generic lower mid table side fully staffed by transient mercenaries. As opposed to all those side only majority-staffed by transient mercenaries, of course. Still, given the ever-more insane transfer market, a million a year or so doesn't seem like a bad investment - just one or two upper-Champ standard players every 5 years should cover the costs? Perhaps everyone up there wants to play for Leeds? Edited by Mr_Gristle (20 Sep 2017 1.09pm)

Edited by Mr_Gristle (20 Sep 2017 1.09pm) From what I am told, Huddersfield have 18,000 season ticket holders and £66 of each ticket goes towards the Academy. They feel it is a lot of money for producing little. They feel there is little point in Huddersfield developing children from 8 to 15 because as a result of EPPP another club can come along and pay miniscule compensation for their best players and off they go to pastures new. Perhaps they're turning it into a fight club. That's basically anywhere in Huddersfield.
