SP seems to play this game where he had two months to appoint someone ie Dyche or Marco Silva....he then waits and decides to pull a rabbit out of the hat in De Boer, some rabbit! I think both of the others would have been better suited and more long term appointments...he tries to be too clever for his own good......

I did not attend the game today but from what I am told the team lacked fitness, shape and commitment. Hopefully Roy and his team will sort all three out on the training pitch, starting with what should be tomorrow given the capitulation today. We have three key players to return in Sakho, Tompkins and Zaha. Sakho in my opinion should be made Captain with immediate effect. Many players need a kick up the derriere and he is the one to give it. He will also sort out the defence which, is woeful. Tompkins IMO is the natural Sakho partner not Dann who just isn't up to it. Zaha will hopefully provide the spark and attacking quality that is missing. Puncheon, who I have been a fan of is I am afraid not good enough on the last 5 games showing. As Captain he needs to motivate all around him and it just isn't happening. Also to be Captain his personal form needs to be in the top drawer....it is not. If there are divisive factions within the dressing room then they need to be removed. SP needs to concentrate on affairs associated with being Chairman of the club and nothing else. Its easy asking the fans to give their undying support and get behind the team but the team need to look also in the mirror, forget their pay packets and play for those same fans who give up their hard earned money to watch what is currently rubbish!
I can tell from your optimism you weren't at the game. In fact you probably haven't been at any!!!

You are spot on my friend this team is terrible and that was obvious after last seasons performance, yet SP buried his head in the sand spent 8m on an unknown and added a couple of loan signings who needed more experience, signed Sakho at last moment and thought he was going to play football like Barcelona or Real Madrid, he needs to stop meddling in team matters because he is hopeless and needs to get someone in who knows what they are doing and that is not DF!

My comments were balanced and earring on the optimistic because this situation is retrievable. The home games have been dire, whilst the two away matches haven't. Doesn't that say something? We play pretty well at Burnley then sack our manager...... It could only happen at Palace! Be pessimistic if that makes you feel better but just think what our future would be if the management team had that mindset!!

Yes it was tough as the new manager should have had a list of targets and you do not want to sign players the new manager does not want still the buck stops with SP.

I have always been a staunch supporter of SP but I am now beginning to think he may be the problem. It is great to have a chairman who is a fan but you must think as a chairman not as a fan. From what I hear, FDB wanted Chambers, a goalkeeper and a striker (cant argue with that) SP wanted Sakho, presumably because that is what the fans wanted (me included). Apparently it was the Americans who came over and pulled the plug on FDB and appointed RH (he was interviewed before Burnley) Parish is under severe pressure, perhaps the Americans know more about "soccer" than we have given them credit for, and perhaps they would like someone else at the helm but with the shareholding dont know how this would work. Although as SP is salaried presumably he could be removed. I am not advocating this but he has tried to play games with the big boys (ie Liverpool) and f***** up. Is he out of his depth? discuss

I do not think people are being pessimistic more like realistic, clearly SP has to stand up and be counted its not the odd bad decisions he has made it is the collective, over the four seasons, for a club to have 4 managers in eight months and 8 in four years says a huge amount about the person at the helm and frankly he has lost the plot, he wants to be involved at every level, he really needs to step aside and handover to someone more able!
