Having managed for some 25 years, I can totally understand why Allardyce at his age has called time on club management.

Didn't a certain Mr Hodgson call time after his England sacking!

Didn't he issue a public statement announcing his retirement as the reason for leaving Palace?

Now he's not ready to return to management at this current time?

Only a matter of time before he pops up in the opposition dugout. Another in the long line of departing managers mugging us off

by the end of january, Big Sam at one of our relegation rivals. And he may even poach one or two of our players.

'Pay off'? Allardyce wasn't sacked. He or new club have to pay us compensation.

Ask yourself these questions

1. If Sam hadn't resigned, where would we be after 4 games?

2. Does football suck these days?

3. Are our players depressed?

4. As Palace fans do we really want this pressure? ( I first started in Div 3 south).

5. Are you all fed up with the money/ glamour/ hype/b**sh*t that football is full of?

I could go on but ............

1) With more points than we have at the moment.
2) Increasingly it does 'suck', yes.
3) I expect they cheer themselves up counting their money.
4) My first game was 1963 and not sure how much longer I want to carry on. Mind you 'pressure' might be seeing your home and possessions blown / washed away rather than watching your football club going mad.
5) Yes to all of those.
