Obviously the window shut but the words from the young goalie released was that a free agent was coming in next few days. Anyone heard of any potential new arrivals.

I would of thought we explored the diabate option?

Anyone know anymore news I'd be grateful.

Thanks

There will be scouts out on Sunday. Polish your boots with Dubbin and think what you want to do with your first touch before it comes to you.

Did you honestly think it was going to go any other way?
Keeper let go because of impending out of contract player joining. Palace unable to complete deal for out of contract player. Now minus a 3rd goal keeper.

I had a bit of a conspiracy theory about this.

What would stop us from releasing our 3rd goalkeeper, but pay him until January, keep him training etc. Also signing a striker, paying him until January, keeping him training etc. also; and then waiting until we see what unfolds before declaring either as our 25th man?

I am not saying that this is what we have done, but if it is within the rules, then it would seem to me to be a way of keeping that 25th spot open for either a 3rd goalkeeper or a reserve striker. Obviously we would have to declare our hand at the point when either was actually needed to play.

Interesting theory and sounds clever. Too clever for Palace though! We will just sit and consider making a move for this and that until too late. The fact we had to play Lee today from the start tells all how desperate we are. There are no variations or alternatives worthy when we pick up injuries. It's really not that hard but there you go ( eh Chris Holmesdale radio! You just hate reality)

The lack of a back up striker has been a recruiting disaster and is already costing us. Benteke offers a particular threat but the need for a pacey striker as a back up / alternative is so apparent.

But in the January window we can play who we like as we don't have to name the 25 until the end of the window, so what would be the point? The only point of leaving a space in the squad that I can see is to sign a free agent striker, as cover there is more urgent than GK.
