Ok so since transfer day past I've been wondering what kinda position we'd be in next summer assuming we avoid relagation.

We've multiple loans and prominent players coming to the ends of their contracts. We already a GK, RB and forward lite.

So what happens when Ward, MacArthur and Cabaye all walk when there contracts expire...? Add in the assumption that Fosu-Mensah and RLC will return to their clubs.

That's potentially 8 players from a match day squad needing replacing?!

Even at £20m a pop that's £160m net spend.

Let's say we make three more high quality loans still leaves £100m hole to fill.

Only way that happens I guess is if we sell Zaha..? Or our billionaire owns front it.

Anyway probably way to early to mention it but just something I'd been thinking.

I'm pro Parish but are we sleep walking in to a disaster next summer?

We will need to improve in Jan. I think it maybe a little early to plan for next season but I understand your concern.

Definitely in the back of my mind, Goldie, which is why I posted recently about needing to sign some players with resale value, which was scoffed at. 'Why do you need resale value when we get £130 mil per year' type dribble.

Well it catches up with you is why. And £40 mil+ is eaten up by transfers, £80mil with wages and some by agents and other parasites.

Could Frank be the answer after all..?

I mean if it does work out with him then maybe come next summer a few of these holes will be plugged with kids who have been blooded this year.

Tall task ahead...

Possible part of the reason DF is back. Seems like we'll need some bargains..

These days you don't get 'mutch' for your money; there's the problem.

We don't have to spend £20m per player if our scouting improves and we buy more wisely.

We spent £25m on a pair of left backs whilst West Brom only spent £7m on Kieron Gibbs

Agreed.

Krychowiak from PSG
Gibbs from Arsenal
Barry from Everton
Rodriguez from Southampton
Oliver Burke from Leipzig
plus 2 more from Vitesse and an Egyptian side
... for a grand total of £30m

I believe you are referring to Hegazi.I am led to believe that his 'Loan' fee was about £1 Mill with a 'View to transfer' as part of the deal.
