He's the sort of level I thought we'd have to settle for so I'm not disappointed or shocked, angry or any other emotion. Shame he's not in any form and st 30, ageing for a player who relies on speed. Well speed over short bursts. Over the years he's been annoying us I always would've appreciated him in our team. Disliked as an opponent but appreciated on your side. A bit like Pulis and Sam. We need back up, an alternative, or the option of a partner with that pace or burst of speed and the ability to close people down very quickly. Shane Long ticks all those boxes, and he's an annoying little sh** like a wasp or fly that won't f*** off, not like our polite boys. I liked his responses to the Holmesdale. Gave a bit back as well as taking it. A bit of theatre. Pretending to touch his toes when really he was sticking his &rse out at blocks B and C. I think there was a sly 2 finger sign as well. Fair do's. He never maimed a player. Just did his job well, hence our annoyance. Shame his goal return lately has been sh1t. Edited by Rudi Hedman (26 Aug 2017 12.18am)

Like you said not annoyed by this rumour.

Yep, would be much happier with Long on the bench as first striker backup than anyone else currently fit & healthy at the club.

At 30 southampton is only his 5th club and that's including cork city where he was a youth team player and only played one senior game when the turned 18 before being bought by redding. I mean kai kai has prob had as many loan clubs.
