Dann is useful up front on occasion, scored something like seven goals last season I think and nearly scored against that lot of thugs last week. Equally, centre-forwards should be useful in defending, as Tekers has been after the word that was had with him after he went AWOL in defence once, and Campbell had no problem putting in a shift when trying to close a game out. "Total football" apparently means anyone can play anywhere so they had better get used to it.

Same reason as we played Danny Butterfield up front all those years ago FFS Totally different, there were minutes to go so Frank moved Dann up to try to score or create a goal.

We'd used our 3 subs anyway. Actually he was pushed up before we made our final sub... at the time I thought he must be injured. My guess the thinking was to create two targets rather than one, and to make the Liverpool defence unable simply to crowd Benteke... it would have been lovely if he had just smashed the volleying opportunity rather than try to craft a pass to Benteke. He picked out Mignolet brilliantly instead ! 😆
