I am not sure that people think he is an awful manager. What most people are questioning is this proven premier league pedigree that was often touted about Silva at the time when we were looking for a manager. When Silva was interviewed for the Hull job he would have been tasked with keeping them up. Ultimately he failed, was it a dismal failure, no. But he did fail to achieve the overall objective.

Whilst injuries & missed chances against Sunderland can be examined as 2 causes for the failure, he would of also been responsible for how they setup from corners (from which they continued to concede plenty) and the failure to seemingly be able motivate the players for the Selhurst game after losing to Sunderland.

As was discussed at the time, there is no actual evidence that Parish refused to return from his holiday and that Silva was available, its all conjecture. He may well have already agreed the deal with Watford as it was announced pretty quickly after the season. I am sure he will probably at some time get the opportunity to return to the premier league but I would imagine that the current set of chairmen will be extremely wary given his obvious wish to use clubs as quick stepping stones. Perhaps a stint in Europe for a few years would be best.

Or perhaps he will sign for Southampton in a few days time.

I certainly don't regard FdB as a 'charlaton' why.

Hopefully he will get his ideas accepted and it will work out somewhere for him.

The sacking after 4 games was not supported on this site the poll was against it as elsewhere.

SP was wrong to flirt with new ideas when Allardyce had provide the way for Palace to play and the personnel to do it.

Spot on. Hodgson over Silva anyday. So we ended up with the better deal in the end.

And for the record, I do give Parish credit for having the guts to replace De Boer with Roy. But I also think if he had taken better care with the appointment we could've had him at the start of the season and none of this would've happened. So let's not pretend he's the great hero in all this

Still think Silva is a decent manager and not sure Watford can complain about lack of loyalty when they’ve turned over so many managers. Another club seriously losing its identity.

Also think Silva from Hull to Watford was done by foreign agents and owners by the time Allardyce walked.

Never witnessed such ineptitude from a Premier League manager as de Boer against Huddersfield and he got three games too long IMO.
