exactly but I think the issue, the only issue, there was no replacement, no DMC, ready to take his spot....other than that, good business.

We don't know what went on behind the scenes. Jedi was a great player and captain for us. However as others have said he was no longer first choice and maybe he didn't want to end his career on the bench. I also think that Pardew was not keen on him possibly because of his support around the club but I also remember his first game under Pardew where he was sent off (I don't think Pardew forgave him)

He was a great servant and you never know he may come back in a coaching capacity some day

You don't bomb a player of that status and importance to the club out like that without giving them a proper send off or giving them a chance to feel the fans gratitude. See John Terry at Chelsea as an example. Okay he wasn't with us as long and his career may not be as decorated as Terry's with Chelsea. But he was just as important for us in what is arguably a bigger transformation than what Terry saw in his time at Chelsea.
He oversaw our change from administration haunted relegation fodder in the Championship to an almost established Premier league team. And we weren't allowed to thank him properly for that. That is bang out of order in my book.

I remember asking this last year and no one really answered it, what exactly do you think the club should have done?

He played 90 minutes against West Brom, then was sold four days later. He wasn't banished to the reserves or made to train with the kids? What sort of special event should we have organised for him to say goodbye?

There were plenty of news reports before that game against West Brom about the move, Di Matteo even confirmed they had contacted Palace. He had the perfect opportunity then to play one more game at Selhurst and say goodbye, what more would you have wanted the club to do?

Employee of the month is a good example of how someone can be both a winner and a loser at the same time.

They could of announced before the match that he was leaving and let him lead the side out one last time. Then he would of got more of a send off. Imo. All an appreciation lap after the match. A mile Jedinak in football are few and far between. He was a leader of men and gavished us through the best years of our club. In premier years, we've never stayed longer than one season. Whether you think cannon or Thomas were better players. Jedinak accomplishments deserve to be applauded. Imo

No pleasing some of or fans. f*** knows what they expect above and beyond what Mile did to warrant giving him the respect he deserves. Yet they'll stick up for current team members who are dogs***e. Makes no sense whatsoever. Think some just come on here for an argument.

Agree. Leaders are a dying breed in modern football. Fans saying his past it. I'd still prefer him to some of the members in our squad currently.

I heard a rumour at the time that he grabbed Pards up. Would love to think that is true.

Hope he threw a dig or two as well...
