Premier league clubs to discuss ending the window prior to the start of the season.

I understand the arguments and gripes many managers have with when the window ends but for me it's just another way of changing something that quite frankly isn't broken.

It's worth pointing out that this is an FA discussion so won't have any effect on the ability of European clubs poaching our players. Only difference being if they succeed in turning heads, you are unable to sign a replacement.

The way I look at it, football is the most valuable and popular sport in the world. It is of course not without its imperfections but this constant desire to change everything is pointless. Look at this new ABBA penalty system for example.

In every system or set of rules there will be downsides and I think smaller clubs especially have all benefited from the ability to assess their squad properly in a few competitive games before making a final decision. There is only so much you can evaluate in pre season as we ourselves have seen in recent days.

We're the Arthur over ere!

I prefer it as it is. Is it perfect? No but it does add to the overall spectacle of the game.

Sure it's frustrating for teams when a players head gets turned late in the window when a season has started. For example I'd be fuming if a top team came in for Zaha this side of August.

On the flip side of that, if our Board were on the fence about whether they have to spend anymore money or not, the Huddersfield game hopefully pushed them over the fence.

Imagine if we put all our eggs into the De Boer is so good he'll get us Europe without any money basket and we then lost our opening 3 matches.

They probably (hopefully) would of realised we need a Benteke backup either way no matter when it shut but would they definitely have known it looks like we need at least another 2 at the back, possibly spending all that money on Sakho? Unlikely.
