Why are EPL tickets so expensive?

I always thought the tickets for these matches were much cheaper than they are for this match. Nobody cares in the early round of this cup and teams often play weakened teams.

Last year, I took about 10 kids from my son's school. I buy them a burger to give them a great experience, but can't understand why they would be charged £10 for this match.

These type of matches should be used to encourage kids to attend, partly for the future and also to get a larger crowd.

I mean EFL cup, not EPL (sorry for any confusion)

Simple answer.

The club wants to maximise revenue.

Not good at maximising revenue if people don't show. I won't be taking the 6 or so kids I take to these games, so hope they get others to watch a tin pot cup with reserve team players.

Getting one kid to watch and start supporting the club and buying shirts in the future will be worth a lot more in the long term.

I know I'm well late, but are they under 12 because they go free.

Because there's nothing like paying £25+ to see your team lose 0-3 to Huddersfield.
