The best song for him is the sound of clapping whenever he gets the ball. Encouaragement from supporters is key during the first handful of games for any young player, especially when he isn't playing in his home country. Booing just shows how many thick 'supporters' the club has unfortunately following it, which it could do without.

I completely understand that argument, however I don't think it's right to boo on the first game of the season, when the team is so obviously adapting to a brand new system. Furthermore, plenty of people were losing their rag with Riedewald, who had to deal with some proper crap passes to him. Not to mention that he is a young lad adapting to the Premierleague. Booing didn't work for us last season. Sunderland was the breaking point, and I have never experienced an atmosphere like it, especially at Selhurst. What did work was the work the staff and players did in training with our immense backing. If it's still the same in 4/5 games, fairenough, but to boo at the very start of the season when adapting to a new style is incredibly negative and demotivating, and undermines everything. Not his fault. Anyone knows that the PL is a tough league to adjust to. Why both he and TFM started is anyone's guess. Next game dann Kelly Tomkins if we must play three at the back, with TFM rwb. Ward is a good defensive full back, not a wing back. He never pretended to be

I get that he needs to show more mettle and get up to speed quickly with the physicality of the game but our fans wont care about that if they can pin the blame on someone within 30mins of his debut. Who isn't "one of our own!"

Lets not make it sound like he was booed terribly for his performance, it was more a matter of frustration and anger then something personal. And let's face it: big transfer fees and big money comes with expectations, its as simple as that.
