Closing of the Transfer Market

Bearing in mind that most competitions begin in early August, and considering a principle of uniformity and fairness for all competitors, the deadline of transfer market in the end of August after several matches it's a complete bizarre, only supported by logics of interests which goes far beyond the essence of football. Totally agree with Portuguese. The window should shut before 1st match. Clubs like us risk losing their best players when the big clubs miss out on other targets.

Fans have short memories.

The question raised must be analyzed (as any intellectually honest person will do) on what's right or wrong, and shouldn't be confused with an analysis of what at this time or other suits us best. Do not tamper the integrity of principles in the light of convenience.

Have always believed that transfer deadline should close one week before start of football season thereby allowing new players at least some time to bed in to squad formations and tactics. Squads and management surely need stability from as early on in the season.
