Well, we do have the best fans in the Premiership at Palace but I'm the Catering manager at the moment and that just comment about Mutch just isn't funny!

Is there much different in high sell on clauses. I think with the sell on clause that p'boro had we actually didn't make a profit on Dwight Gayle sale to Newcastle.

It's a tricky one I'll hold my hands up an apologise for my early ranting at buy back clauses I've been mulling things over the last few days.

It maybe not that they should be banned, but some form of monitoring maybe wise?

Like is it fair the buying club can buy them back and sell them straight on at a profit. You know it's one thing to buy them back to play them it's another to buy them back and flip them for a return.

Does the player get a choice in this? What if he's settled and doesn't want the move?

Should there be limits on how many players per team / league can be sold / bought from the same club.

I think I'm starting to see there are positives but also think the structure should be overseen for fairness to all.

bump.

who'd want us to purchase TFM and RLC in this window if their clubs insisted on a buy back clause?

let's say 15m each with a 25m buy back each?

The £10m each would be a reward for their improvements while at Palace. Would give anywhere between £12m and £16m for purchase without buyback. Attractions for selling clubs would include off payroll and another player not sat getting cold (and losing football skills and getting more frustrated by lack of game time. The sad thing is that Chelsea will loan players out from reaching age 18 to reaching 35. COYP

I'd be reluctant to take any player on a BBC. The best I'd agree to is a percentage of the profit from the sale, or an option to match the purchase price offered.

A BBC is complete bulls*** and should be banned under UEFA/FIFA rules.

We don't do possession; we do defense and attack. Everything else is just wa**ing with a football.

I always think loans are worse though. especially for players.

The loan system allows rich clubs to abuse players and poor(er) clubs. If they were serious about FFP, they would limit the number of players a team can have out on loan; that would stop big clubs from stockpiling talent and using the loan system to get them playing time.

This would also be a boon to the lower leagues, who get shut out from owning - and therefore profiting from - young talent. Instead, they can get it only by paying away loan fees to the rich clubs, which is just a tax on the poor.
