Because it's not working very well for us.

Sure, it's been effective (sometimes) against bigger teams and we've picked up some big scalps, and got a few good results away from home. However, in the last two seasons we have lost at home to:

West Brom
West Ham x2
Swansea
Sunderland x2
Burnley
Bournemouth
Watford

We have to be able to break these teams down and get points from those in the bottom half of the table. We can't rely on getting away wins at Stamford Bridge and Anfield every season.

Frank has said before he plans for a specific team, we can still play 451 if necessary against the top six and away from home, but our form at Selhurst has been awful for too long, and that's what we need to fix.

We need to be able to play a patient, possession game and break teams down, because hitting them on the break and using Wilf and Benteke exclusively just doesn't work against teams who are happy to sit and take a point.

We have already brought in 2 very skilled players with one more imminent.
And I would put money on 2 more to come.
Then there are our existing players who are all moulding well into Franks tactics and the emergence of a very skilled youngster.
We couldd easily have beaten Shalke, a top german team, and for long stages of the game we played some very sophisticatedted stuff.
So don't worry we are on it.
The youngster really performed against Shalke. At one point he was running riot.

im not against the formation but we seem to have 5 midfielders who could all start for 2 positions...i have to assume luca & RLC will be the 2 central positons with cabaye on the bench, we may aswell offload jimmy mac. we could play andros at wing back and puncheon on the wing.
