This was mentioned to me three weeks ago by my neighbour who is a Spanish ex professional and who now scouts for Chelsea in Spain and South America, thought it was a load of bóllocks at the time.

He said we were being taken over by Chinese. He received this information from other Chelsea scouts at a meeting at the Belfry. I will have to get more inside gossip from him.

Any body buying Palace for £200m + will undoubtedly be planning a bigger investment in the club and a major makeover including a new stadium. Forget Selhurst. Our futur lies at Crystal Palace. That is where we would catipult into the top league.
We need to build a new stadium with a minimum of 45,000.
The national sports centre would be so good for us.
CPFC needs a minimum £800 M thrown at it ( chicken feed on a global scale) and we will then be a top London club with global status.
We almost certainly need Asian money to achieve it and then we become a big player. Or we stay as we are at Selhurst and hopefully in the premier but never the top 7.
We are already fighting way above our weight at 26,000 seats.
I personally would love to see us do the above, but I doubt I am in the majority.

Think most of us want Steve Parish to continue as owner/chairman, but money talks. And since SP probably have enough money for himself and family to cover expenses for rest of life, think he will - if deciding selling out - have the club at heart. Hopefully stay on as well. Whatever, in SP I trust and we could not in a million years ask for better owners than the 4 who dragged us out of deep water...

Wonder if Steve would have been kept on in some capacity...

Also remember reading some time back how Steve had had enough of trying to get the national sports center and locals to buy in to building a new stadium at the park. And said it's a dead duck under his stewardship.

Does beg the question if the Chinese would have tried to revive it.

Don't get me wrong I absolutely don't want to be Chinese owned but at the same time building a state of the art ground in Crystal Palace park... it simply could be one of the best stadiums in the country.

Anyway all we do know is the deal is dead.

Am fairly surprised the club is up for sale as I thought the owners were looking to be involved longer term. Is all this flirting with relegation starting to get to them..

A lot of people would not want this to happen, but we will never challenge the top boys unless we have a new stadium and massive investment, like it or not, it's the truth.

Those are the facts and, if you look at our accounts since we've been in the PL, we pretty much spend everything just to stay here. We'll never get the traction to do anything major to the infrastructure without a huge injection of cash.

Fair point on Brighton; I may be prepared to compromise on the terrorism

When are people going to realise money is not the issue when it comes to the National Sports Centre. Its opposition. From practically everyone up at Crystal Palace. NOBODY wants us up there. end of.
If we were to offer to completely redevelop the area, extent/build a tube line/station, create jobs, businesses, housing, shops, offices as well as a state of the art super stadia and leisure facilities it STILL would not get approved and to do that you wouldn't get any change out of a billion. While I agree 26,000 is not a big enough stadium all other possibilities (that mean remaining in the area) have been explored and reluctantly dismissed. We will only get a bigger stadium if we can find a way to redevelop Selhurst if we want to stay in South London. That is the sad reality
