You can eat what you like, so can I. I'll continue eating fruit and veg... mosquito bites are not a problem in england. If I lived in a country where they were I'd use a mosquito net or whatever the people use to protect themselves from being killed. I'd still be a vegan though and stick to my principles. I gave the definition of veganism as not causing harm to animals where it is as practiceable as possible. If any animal is killing humans by the millions it would make sense to vegans too to stop them from doing so and if that means killing them then unfortunately that must be done.
