On a budget

With the potential of both RLC and cillessen joining on loan, it very much looks like we on a budget this year but the squad depth still needs improvement as a few injuries and we at crisis point. With a maximum of 30m budget muted is that enough to complete a competitive squad.

Potential ins
Cillessen (loan - option to buy)
Ruben Loftus-cheek (loan- no recall but no option to buy)

This leaves us with one prem loan available and one foreign loans available. We desperately need a couple of striking options , a decent cb and a right back and maybe another midfielder. Can this be achieved in this inflated market.

If a 30 million budget has been 'muted' anywhere then i haven't heard it.

Agree. But I'd be surprised if Frank would've joined us if he had much less than that to play with. Particularly his 'big spending' comments in one of his early pressers.

Personally I think SP was creaming his pants over hiring De Boer, so would have offered him more money to spend than he probably should've. We'll see.

Been reported by many sources on social media- David orstein and Dom fifield of limited budget- I presumed that it's no more than 30m.

The club would put it out there anyway to reduce our expectations and stop other clubs viewing us as a soft touch.

Agree with this.

We are hardly going to say we have a 70 million budget as when we try to negotiate with Liverpool over the transfer of Sakho (who i still think we'll sign), they'll just tell us to cough up 30 million as we have a budget of 70 million.

Clever move by the board in my opinion.

I would not be surprised at 30million if that!

We need four players to solidify the stating 11 and need squad players, I can't see us signing any more then 2-3 players max.

I'm quite worried is no one else?

Now Zaha's got a bit of green grass ahead of him here... and finds Ambrose... not a bad effort!!!!

Not worried at all. We've just signed a midfielder which ticks that box. We've off loaded a keeper who doesn't want to be here so no doubt we'll be moving heaven and earth to sign another one.

We've been linked with god knows how many defenders so I'm sure that's being addressed.

If everyone we sign is a first team player then the squad is better off via those slipping down.

What's the worry?

No quite chilled today.
Still got over 25 pros signed up.
Will be able to field a team on Saturday.

Probably a £30m starting point and then extra available after sacking off players no longer wanted.

We've spent some serious money the last few windows, slowly building a decent squad. We've never had it as good as fans but unfortunately people always want more.
