who says Dann not going to be Captian just you which means nothing! i would say not a good captian but the best CH we have at the moment and he's only 30 so don't get your point about being old. Originally posted by Dan89
Not you again, zzzz - with same old statement, if dann's not captain anymore can we afford to have a big earner on the subs bench. That was 18 months ago, when he showed this form. He wasn't even the best 2 cb last season, if you don't evolve in football, you stand still. We already have an old back line as it is.

You highlight there is no depth in our squad, then want to sell our best players on the bench, saying there paid too much. Your not going to get a strong squad paying peanuts and selling our best assets.

Time will tell. I don't think it's a coincidence that dann in the latest report by the mail was considering his future, maybe a move to China out the question but a move to wba isn't. He's struggled with possession football in past , in which why Arsenal was against following up their enquiry , when he was at Birmingham.

So for once looks like i was right Dann going no where very happy with this as i said he is only 30 and i think our best centre half not by much over Tomkins, who i think will be our CH pairing unless we get Sakho PLEASE GET HIM. Originally posted by Dan89

Scott Dann is a really good centre back, as good as we can hope to have at Palace (other than short term loans or stepping-stone deals). He had a terrible year with injuries last time, had no proper pre-season and thereafter was forever getting rushed back into action only to get the kind of little 2-3 week injuries that players pick up when they are not 100% fit. If he has a good pre-season, his fitness should be fine which in turn should get him back to his old self. The question is whether he will fit in with what De Boer wants to do when we have possession. Many of us are presuming we'll be playing out from the back in an Ajax style, but the manager himself has spoken of not changing too much too soon, so I'd imagine Dann will be a key player next year. Dann to China sounds like a right lot of horses*** to me. Agree, Every player and his dog gets linked to China but how many players have actually gone? Hardly any.
