Palace have already been linked with many former Ajax and in particular Dutch players but there is one we haven't been linked with which potentially ticks the boxes for FDB in defence. Jairo Riedewald is an Ajax CB, who was brought in as a teenager to play alongside Joel Veltman. Riedewald is renowned for being an excellent ball playing centre back who is very strong and clearly knows the FDB way of playing. Chelsea have been linked with him last month for £13m so I wonder if he would be open to move to Palace? Apologies for yet another Dutch player but this is clearly going to be the cheaper option and the way FDB will go if had success with a side.

What has he done to suggest that he would be able to cope with the defensive strains of the PL? He has not even managed to keep a regular starting place in the Ajax team. If we would offer Ajax 13m and him a good pay check no doubt he would come and he might yet come good but it would be a massive gamble. One I would personally stay away from. Yeah I agree, it is a gamble, but isn't every transfer a gamble? FDB will want to play his system with player he trusts and feel will fit that system. Ajax won many Eredivisie under FDB with Riedewald and Veltman at the back. Yes Eredivisie is not the PL and is more physically demanding. This guy is known for his strength and his ability so actually seems more suited. He has the ability to play as a holding midfielder. He cant be a mug for Chelsea not to be interested.
