When would we know if any of the current squad want to switch their squad number? 4, 8 and 9 have been vacated so conceivably Benteke would want #9 and Milivojevic maybe wanting #4. Bolasie switched from 7 to 10 a few seasons back and Townsend took the number 10 a few weeks into the season after already wearing #17.

If Luka and Benteke did switch plus a new midfield signing we could conceivably have our first 11 this coming season numbered 1-11, possibly with Speroni on the bench being the exception. It always bugs a tiny part of my OCD brain when teams field hardly any players numbered between 1-11.

Thanks, I suppose that was at the start of the season, though some did change after that date; Townsend switching to 10 after Bolasie left so it seems players were able to switch right up until the 25 man squads were released in September.

Already Salah took the #11 shirt from Firmino who changed to #9 for Liverpool, if current players want to switch you'd imagine the ought to do it before new signings come in demanding them. I remember Townsend took the 10 shirt pretty sharpish before Benteke had the chance to demand it.
