Robots will ultimately be cheaper than human equivalents as they don't go sick, need holidays, pay rises or hugely expensive superannuation schemes. Not saying it will happen in the very short term, but we're not over the financial crisis yet but cuts have been rejected for now. The next crisis we have will be all the worse because this one hasn't been fixed and there will be huge pressure on costs. Teaching is one of many public sector areas that will be affected. Automation is a better word than robots. That said, it will be the robots that do for Trump at his next election as they've got his supporters' jobs, not Mexicans I learnt to pass my driving theory test via a DVD - technically a robot, there isn't much that wont be replaced by Robots.

Interesting article about farming. They are focusing on the Green aspect but I think this is more about making it efficient. Energy costs are a big factor but I think they will resolve that in time. Automation is impacting every aspect of the economy.
