Ah cool. I'll try not to keep the digression going, but I've always found that the Palace/Brighton divide is the border between Haywards Heath and Burgess Hill. When I lived in HH the platforms were lined with Palace fans every weekend (Crawley had a large number too for obvious reasons) yet from Burgess Hill heading South it's all Brighton.

I heard that on the day of the 'Julian Speroni' testimonial, Angmering station was full of Palace supporters going up for the game.

Oh yes, I was probably only thinking vertically on the London to Brighton line, hadn't considered East-West of Brighton.

I wonder how many of those started out living closer to Selhurst Park and gradually moved further out.

Quite a lot. My Dad's job moved from Croydon to Sussex in 1983 and when we moved from Thornton Heath to Burgess Hill we ended up living in a road with several other Palace fans that had made a similar move with their jobs. There were also a lot of people that moved to Crawley from Croydon.

I am under the impression that quite a few people who lived in "Inner Croydon" ie Thornton Heath,South Norwood etc moved further out to the likes of Coulsdon,Purley,Sanderstead, Caterham, Kenley etc before moving out even further south to say the East Grinstead area,Horsham, etc etc.

I am also under the impression that those who lived in East London tend to move out to Essex, hence you get a lot of W.Ham supporters travelling in from that 'Neck of the woods'.
