Read this little tidbit today. Time to rethink scheduling, like no more Friday matches for a start and limiting Sunday as well.

I'm fairly sure that I read something recently about more games moving to a 11am kick-off to suit Asian audiences.

Probably need to read this with your other eye on the Chinese viewing figures.

Cynic or realist? It's a fine line!

I'd like to see the digital streaming numbers before I'd say that there is an actual decline in American viewership. Note that the article cited in the OP wrapped up by stating that eight of NBC Digital Streaming's ten most watched matches were from this past season. Whether streaming is a legitimate slice of the pie yet or just a drop in the bucket I do not know, but I am certain that it will be the main player eventually.

And remember that on-air NFL ratings cratered this year too, so this isn't just an EPL issue. The live sport people were the last holdouts against cord-cutting, but now even they have lost the battle, as the recent high-profile layoffs at ESPN would attest.

I think they are going to experiment with a few fixtures with this time of kick off. It is a market they want to (exploit) sorry tap into. I bet it will be matches where the away fans have to travel the furthest distances!
South coast v Manchester, Liverpool or Newcastle or vice versa for example. Never a local derby of course that would be far to f*$king sensible for the dear old farts at the FA and Premier League!
