I thought England were quite s*** and were lucky to get out of that with a point. They had no decent attacking wide players except oxtail chamberpot. They kept cutting inside or trying to put it through the middle where Scotland were too resolute. Very predictable and crying out for someone like Zaha. Lots of possession but virtually no creativity, penetration or threat; Kane was totally anonymous until injury time and only got his equaliser then because the keeper didn't come for a ball that was easily his.

Couldn't agree more, this game was crying out for some individual flair. We are at best dull and at worst totally inept in our attacking options. However, it did look like a lot of players were on the beach, cocktail in hand to me!

Don't forget that a big part of the snub against Wilf was Big Sam picking Townsend at a time when a direct comparison was easily made and Wilf was by far the better player (i.e. before Andros' January epiphany).

Big Sams's only match for England v Slovakia in Early September. There was no Townsend in his 23 man England squad.

Townsend was on the bench in Southgate's 1st match v Malta in Early October and v Slovenia in Southgate's 2nd just after the Maltese match.

The pyramid to beat all pyramids!!

Find out what team is in which division, eg which division is Coppull United in?

Premier League superstars strolling through an international performance is nothing new, of course. But you are spot on that there was little flair here.

Meanwhile, Real and Barca (to name just two) have been two of the most successful sides in football recently, and they do this on the back of individuals who can take on an opponent and bust open a well-organised defense.

If the OP wanted an answer, he got it on Saturday.

We don't do possession; we do defense and attack. Everything else is just wa**ing with a football.
