Having heard SP on the podcast talking about asking shareholders having to put money in for the last January window, and hinting at fan involvement in the money for the stadium, it does beg the question.

I utterly support the overall goal of not having what we can't afford. We cannot go back to the old days. We are pinned by FFP from what I know.

I get the feeling we are close to being unable to buy a lot more, without more investment.

This could be an interesting summer.

The part about fan involvement was not about helping financially but helping to put pressure on Sainsbury', so we can expand.

I think financially we are sound.

The part about fan involvement was regarding putting pressure on Sainsbury's to enable us to expand, not having to provide the finances.

We spent the most out of the entire premiership in January. We now have two forward players earning over 100k a week and andros probably on 80...thats nearly a million every 6 weeks let alone rest of squad and we are expected to improve rest of squad. Not many other smaller sides are spending this much. Bournemouth for example earn just as much if not more for finishing higher and they don't have super salaried players like Zaha or benteke... We are already punching above our financial weight.. Fans need to not expect improvements on puncheon and ward and just hope....

Cash will be an issue for a club of our stature. Think we have done fantastic since we were promoted via the play offs. Since we were promoted, QPR, Norwich and now Hull have all been relegated. Whoever wins on Monday will have a huge task to stay up. Presently we are not fully established in this league but we are getting there. However we need to be careful, cos one flash dan manager could cripple us.

We are ranked in the top 30 richest clubs in the world with no debt. I doubt you know the full financial situation at any club.
Your right its wages that eat the money not transfer fees, but if you don't strive to improve with new players, you fall by the wayside, regardless who the manager is.
For example Sunderland had the 8th highest wage bill last year in the Premier, but no marquee signings.

Defoe earns more than our top earner and Bournemouth ignored ffp to get to the promised land. Don't want us to take those type of risks, but I believe we'll be fine without going silly.

They will be in same boat soon. Steve Cook will want more to stay as will King if he scores at a higher rate than Defoe (which he probably will) and Ake if he joins

We are moving into a time where average players can demand huge wages. Are Rooney, Terry and Defoe worth £100,000 a week. Not at all. Is Wilf worth that, yes. Would Sakho be, absolutely !
