If Marcos Silva heads our way, I imagine it's within the realms of possibility that he would be able to raise this lad if we so desired. Benitez could be a good prospect for his future, but just as easily, working with a Portuguese who managed him two years ago in the country's capital could be the opportunity he's been looking for. A manager who nurtered him and wanted him here in the UK could ingratiate him into our football, way of life and hopefully somewhere not so bloody rainy where he'd have to share a dressing room with Shelvey.

The two comments I would make are firstly Newcastle are rumoured to be making a £39m bid which is probably too rich for us and secondly whilst it's a bit colder in the North East it isn't wetter as the heavier rainfall tends to be on the left hand side of the country
