Its no more absurd that paying someone 110k a week either though. Remember if he signs on 10k a week for a three year contract, and is playing in the first team inside of say a month, he's playing for 10k a week. Its a capitalist world, you aren't what your worth, you are what you can command. Plus if your looking for 1k a week, starting a 10k gives you a lot more leeway to get a better deal. Nonsense. You're worth what either you're stupidly prepared to pay or 2 or more parties are willing to raise the price to. What good is paying a deluded sh1t £1.5 mil over 3 years if he's not good enough. If he is you raise his wages as and when certain achievements are met.

Fryers must be a multi-millionaire by now and has played in his whole professional career, at six different clubs over seven years, the sum total of 38 appearances and plenty of those he didn't start not complete. Just a prime example of the madness of the financial overseers in football today. Seems like a nice lad though.

If we paid someone £10k a week who then broke into the first team, their agent would be demanding a new contract on £50k a week minimum.
It's 106 miles to Chicago, we got a full tank of gas, half a pack of cigarettes, it's dark... and we're wearing sunglasses. |

If any of our academy looked even close to playing in/around the first team I'd agree. But, at present, they don't. So £10k/week is stupid.
