Ive seen some fantastic players and managers come and go
But it always amazes me how Palace fans can love someone who is very average ( Freedman )
But someone who is brilliant ( Allardyce , Pulis ) they can take or leave ????

Looking through these threads so many Palace fans are ok with Allardyce going , just as they were when Pulis left

Who do you think we are good enough for Klopp , Mourinho , Pep ???

Get real , for the past few seasons we have somehow managed to perform an escape act ~ unless we get someone in who is proven , next season we may not be so lucky .

Don't think anyone is 'ok' with him leaving, but what are we supposed to do, cry and scream, start a petition? He's decided to leave as did pullis, well f**k them, move on. As for getting someone in who is 'proven' I'd rather get someone in who actually wants to manage us and might hang around a couple I'd seasons.

That's fine if you're referring to the 'we learn something everyday' homily. But if you weren't 100% competent at performing your job after seven years (i.e. you were making major errors), I'd seriously question your competence. I'm not suggesting that Parish isn't very competent; my comment was in relation to a suggestion that he's still "learning on the job". If that meant that he's still getting to grips with it then I'd have some concerns.

There was no reference in the original post to Parish, albeit if I was still "learning on the job" after seven years, I might think it was time to consider whether I needed to review my position.

Allardyce has no less taken "our club for a ride" than Pulis did; it's just the timing that's different and the apparently friendly way in which Allardyce has done it, but the net result is the same. Allardyce is like that girl who writes you a long letter telling you why she doesn't want to see you anymore, but hopes you can remain friends. Pulis is the one who tells you in a one-line text. You may well feel a bit better about the former one, but the net effect is the same; you're still dumped.

Ridiculous comment. Pulis lied and deceived his way to speed up payment of his bonus and then went on to break the terms of his original contract when he went to WBA. (As for him being brilliant, you set a low bar)

Allardyce used a clause in his contact that allowed him to be released from it within the first year if he wished. CPFC are also entitled to substantial compensation should he go back into football within the next 2 years.

Why the new thread? It's attention seeking palace fans like you that would rather "implicitly " criticise Parish that are strange. We know he has made mistakes anyone in his position would. He's learning on the job. But if any manager like Pulis wants to take our club for a ride they can feck right off. I remember proven managers like Venables having it off with our finances. We are not "fine" that SA is leaving but we have to accept it. The man says he wants to go chill with his family - unlike some managerial departures SA's statement is unequivocal.

It's you that needs to get real pal

Er " Pal "
I guess you are referring to the second Venables appointment not the first , when the club was in freefall ~
Is that right " pal " ???

Don't think that section of Palace fans will realise how well Sam did to keep us up for a while. He deserves nothing but thanks.

I agree with you mate. Allardyce and Pulis may not be the Hollywood option but they are safe managers who you know will keep you up and make you competitive. I know a lot of my Palace supporting mates were 'disappointed'when Allardyce came in but he's insured another season of Prem Football for us, although if we appoint a clueless c**t like Woy that'll be a season of struggle and s***e. I'm as gutted as when Pulis left at the moment. None of the names being bandied about fill me with confidence.

Is that the best you can do? I can't be bothered to explain why Venables is persona non grata at Palace to you. You know as well as I do.

We all can see SA is a top manager. We just refused to assume Parish was on the wrong and had effectively forced him out.
