like i said tho, its obvious we cannot perform properly without wilf, as a team we need a plan b, its not like we havnt got the quality in the squad to have one.

theres no doubt andros is quality tho, how can he manage lung bursting runs late in the game like he does has me in awe.

I'd argue we could play well without wilf... We just need that third decent winger on our books. Hopefully that's why we've been linked to Walcot and lookman. Don't think we'd get any of those two but someone of that ilk is required.. Backary and just Lee haven't got what it takes

but lets have this right...nobody in our 1st team has played well before today since the start of the season, if the midfield & attack arnt performing its obviously the case that the defence are goingto be under more pressue and therefor be under more scrutiny.

ive no reason to fall out with you, your a good guy but i feel the abuse aimed at the back 5/6 thus far this season has been massivly unwarranted...lets not forget that untill today the top half of the pitch hadnt scored a goal either, but theyve come in for nowhere near the level of crititism the bottom half have.

without research im guessing we have had 8 managers since promotion, none of them have dropped or replaced ward, he is the only surviver since promotion and that should be celebrated not chastised!

as palace fans we herald people like alan lee or paddy mccarthy who were ultimatly s***, but hammer joel ward who if hasnt, is very close to being our most capped PL player.

i would argue that recent history states otherwise.

i agree however if we got another world class winger we could do, tho these are few & far between in the real world

Could it be he can play well only when the rest of the defence is properly organised and he gets better support from midfield.

Completely agree we should be after a third winger. Had hoped over the summer we'd have signed Haddadi as he could have been cover for either wing or straight through the middle.

End of last season and today shows we're not far away from being a top ten side. Let's hope we can build on today and have some consistency.

The team needs balance. The very appearance of wilf takes pressure of townsend - no coincidence that he had his best performance today.

I wrote could not can. But yeah cool.

There must be a championship winger with real pace cutting things up or somewhere in Europe. Yes we're after tuson but he's our target to fill the no.10 role.

In relation that we simply need a third decent winger on our books.

He's actually better technique and footballing brain wise but has yet to reach the consistency that Yannick had.

I loved yala, but he NEVER defended. It’s why managers put him as a striker. I used to shout at the tv. Townsend runs back and defends. Much better all around player.

Everything worked well yesterday, but I especially liked Zaha and Townsend together up front, with as Zaha said they were told that if one was on the wing the other had to be in the box. Totally unpredictable and difficult to play against, and let the midfield 3 push up too. Top tactics.
