I did dabble with a mindfulness app recently though maybe the 'There's an app for that' approach to everything isn't always the best solution for everyone. It takes me a while to form a habit and so if I'm not careful I don't stick to it. A bit of a basic and caveman approach, but exercise certainly has helped me with stress over the years. Swimming especially, as its low impact and can feel relaxing and almost otherworldly when you're in the zone! Thanks for the suggestions. As you say, it can't hurt to have an ongoing approach to mental well being, so it's something that's relevant to all. I don't think that would have worked for me either. I have come to this through my yoga teachers and fellow students. I'm a show me rather than teach me person. Only last weekend a friend who is a mindfulness teacher suggested I read How to Train a Wild Elephant: And Other Adventures in Mindfulness Which is her go to book for beginners.

Yes, I can see how a social setting could contribute to self improvement efforts. The idea of all being invested in a joint venture and wanting the best for other people as well as yourself. Thanks for the book suggestion.

Too embarrassed to see anyone face to face or speak on the phone. Have been emailing these on and off for a while tho and they have helped a little bit.

Nothing to be embarrassed about, although I get the hesitancy to open up - us blokes have been hardwired all wrong. Hope you find the help you’re after.

Geez what a bunch of pansies. What's wrong with diploying the stiff upper lip attitude. Keep it all in, live a depressed, repressed life and eventually die lonely like our fathers and their fathers before them?

Is that Barcelona in Samaria? Not quite getting the connection. But I’d love to visit, not been since 1963 when it was a bit scary.

Climate and weather are not the same thing. Weather is what happens from day to day. Climate is measured by trends over a much longer period.
