Appears, in an understated way that he is enjoying feeling valued at Palace. I'd rather that than any over the top enthusiasm.
I suspect we will at least be keeping Sam for the next two seasons, if we want him.

rightly or wrongly, theres also a strong undercurrent of "i'm only guilty of being stupid" too.

Clinton is Clinton. I have known him for a long time, I know his mother... Simon Jordan

Yes i thought that but I suppose anything he said to try and explain could come across as "poor me"

Which is true seeing as didn't actually 'do' anything he can be chart with and indeed hasn't been charged by any bodies.

So what did he do that was so serious?
He was also very clear in the sting that he would have to clear anything with the FA so it's them that really need stringing up if anyone is.

Cynic or realist? It's a fine line!

He really was an idiot for talking in the fashion he did. When you're the face of an organisation like the FA you have to make sure you do not bring it into disrepute - that's the golden rule of a high profile job. Even though he broke no FA rules.

I almost feel sorry for him. But he's learnt a lesson and it's been a long time coming I reckon.

So two good friends had the "pleasure" of being at a dinner with SA during his short spell as England manager and they said he was actually talking on his phone throughout and did not come across well. To the extent they both used Anglo Saxon terms to describe him.

Anyway I'm glad we've got him. He's 62 so this could be his last good gig - he's got a chance to make a mark.

He's a great manager. Hope here's here until he's 70!
