They don't know. Every top coach thought playing two up front til ten years back was the right way. Now if they do that they think it suicide. Even some of the strongest teams play one up front nowadays so... Mostly Iits just about opinions...

Some interesting comments regarding the wall. Personally, I think there is scope for not having a wall at all on the grounds that the goalkeeper will see the ball all the way. If the attacking team want to waste players in a wall of their own as a distraction then this only adds weight to my argument that the free kick specialists actually like a wall to work with rather than no wall? Look, I agree I am no expert and coaches have for years done things the same way but I think if someone analysed the percentage of free kicks scored that went over the wall to those that went the other side of the keeper then there may be a change in the way people think about the value of the wall. I think the main point I made which has not really been answered is whether a higher or lower percentage of goals would be scored from a direct free kick taken 5 yards outside the box with no-one in the way?
Your point about not having a wall is valid, as a top keeper shouldn't let a shot in from 30yds, but having a wall does stop the keeper seeing the flight of the ball slightly, thus delaying reaction his reaction time.

So many better keepers for less than £20m personally think he's a liability and don't think we should even consider breaking he bank for him. Jordan Pickford if much rather

I've always thought Butland was better than Hart to be honest. No idea how he still isn't at a better club and still isn't above Hart for England

Not any more! Talks reported to have broken down and another club has made an offer. Some sites stating that as Mandanda has now gone Hart could be coming to Palace!
