If you do fancy a longer flight I can recommend Kenya. Superb place and the Masai Mara is something else

Sal or Boa Vista I guess, been a few times excellent sun all year round short flight but not a lot to do outside the all inclusive hotels. Getting touristy

I can concur...Masai Mara is great...took an 'overlander' from Vic Falls up the entire east coast, camping along the way. Made the rookie mistake on day 5 or so of leaving my trainers outside the tent to dry off and some Zebra nicked one. The local Masai then chased it down over the course of the next hour to return it to me.

Having a week or so visiting family in Devon, with half an eye on maybe moving down there if finances allow (which they probably won't). I've also been invited by my cousin and her son to join them on their planned trip to Germany in late August/early September. Which reminds me, I'd better get my passport renewed!
