Hi lads,

I'm making the long trip down to Selhurst on Sunday and looking for places I can park my car please. I've read there is a Sainsbury's nearby but this fills quickly. Can someone please help?

I'm open to getting a tube if there is a station people would reccomend too.

Thanks

I recommend you come down on Sunday mate.

You can park in my place if you want and get a lift with us but we probably won't do the pub.

Sorry I meant to put Sunday. Not interested in doing pubs as we have a young lad with us anyway and will be driving straight back.

If you are reasonably early then on-street parking is probably best. You won't get any hassle. Or if you want to park further away try around East Croydon Station and get the train one stop up to Selhurst or Norwood Junction.

Unless your own fans vandalise cars on the way back to the station it'll be safe there. A couple of our rivals do (not Millwall btw).

It's Sunday. Traffic won't be bad. Don't park in north London. Faster to drive through London and park or go round the M25 and drive up to ground or park at Whyteleafe station or south Croydon but as it's Sunday I'd park at the ground.

If using the train Purley Oaks to Thornton Heath could appeal. Train timetable would need to be checked but advantages are easy parking around Purley Oaks Station, Tby carvery close to that Station, and walk from Thornton Heath (usual for away supporters) goes past two pubs (one a Wetherspoon).

Look on google maps for St Marys road se25 it is close to the away end and as long as you get there before 10.30 you should be ok and find a space if not all the roads around there are good to park on.

Ps I hope to God Sunderland can beat Swansea so it wont matter if we lose to you, if not am praying Palace can slaughter the Tigers.

Yes I meant Purley Oaks, not South Croydon. South Croydon is yellow lined everywhere. Alternatively Whyteleafe (not Whyteleafe south) is further south and nearer the m25 and good for parking. Upper Warlingham station is also a 3 minute walk from there with faster trains that go to Norwood junction, not selhurst, then Thornton Heath.

I often drive to games. Can park on the streets surrounding the ground but it isn't easy and being a residential area a lot of people who live there will be in their own spaces. What I often do is drive to the alma pub (corner of grant road near easy croydon) and park in the carpark or street nearby and they lay on a coach which takes you to the ground and brings you back again. Its a couple of quid. Done this with children and it's no bother. They are allowed in the pub and on the coach as well

There's a train at 10:14 & 10:41 Purley Oaks > Norwood Junction : Journey takes 10 Mins

As stated elsewhere it looks like Selhurst Station may be closed due to engineering works (No trains through Sanderstead as well so Warlingham might be affected as this is same line) Easy and free to park near Purley Oaks. the 10:14 might be a bit early but as it's the last game of the season at Selhurst we hope the pre match atmosphere may be worth getting there early for(not sure about when the in ground bars will be serving though)

I am moving close to the ground (on the station route), should I be concerned?
Let me guess Brighton and Charlton?
I was there when we beat Charlton in the cup but they were pathetic and it was just handbags.
Although I doubt they can do much damage as they would be totally outnumbered so close to the ground.
