Its an exciting end to the season and even though we are not safe it shows the depth of squad we need next season if we want a top half finish I think a more positive attitude to having academy graduates involved would benefit us next season.

Sorry, Kelly has been excellent up to yesterday. Think Sam got it completely wrong and should never have put Schlupp in a 3 man defence. No matter how many failings Delaney now has, he does still have leadership and organisation qualities, and there is no doubt it probably wouldn't have affected the win for City but it certainly wouldn't have been as shambolic. Basically we gave a quality player like Silva the run of the park. Somebodies job should of been to stick to him like glue no matter what was happening around him. Even when he was demolishing us nobody took responsibility, not least the manager to rectify this. Edited by Booted Eagle (07 May 2017 10.59am)

of course there is...hull & swansea would absolutly kill to be in our position! we need 1 point from 2 games its in our hands. thats assuming that swansea win both their games mind you. why all the doom & gloom after yesterday, its no great embarissment getting pulled apart by a team of that quality given we had 25% of our 1st choice defence playing, and cabaye missing.

I guess it arises from a fear that a team with 25% of its 1st choice defence playing, and no Cabaye, will be just as inept as the team against Burnley was. I'd like to be positive and say that we could yet finish in the top 10, with 2 wins.

Hull have to come out and play , so they will attack as do the top teams against us ~ Before you say Sunderland , they were gifted 3 goals in 5 minutes , that wont ever happen again under Sam .

Fair point but I understand that we have a 6ft 7inches CB in the under 20s Squad (sorry can't recall his name) who is quick and can certainly head a ball and, surely, he could not have done any worse than that shambles of a so-called defence that we put out against City. It is a shame that we have had such a poor Season that it has been difficult to 'blood' some of the youngsters. This will certainly change if we do go down and there seems to be plenty of young exciting talent 'waiting in the wings.' Back to basics and Palace producing their own First team players. We have a proud record in that respect.

It's weird, being Palace I can see us finishing on 44 points, comfortable in a position above 15th with an outsider looking in asking 'what were you worried about?' .......equally it wouldn't surprise me if we were relegated.

I agree. I wasn't embarrassed by our performance. Thought we still offered an attacking threat. City played one of their best games of the season, and Silva gives them something extra that was missing when he was out.
