Expect the unexpected and this season is no different. When all it seems we had to do was to turn up against Burnley (who hadn't won away all season) go through the motions, win 3 points and with it secure another season of PL football. Previous Sunday go to Anfield without much of a hope and secure a well earned victory. Not many bookies make a living out of betting on us. Looking back at our history this really is no surprise and the excitement coupled with manic fear will go on possibly until the last game at Man U. It's in our DNA so why do we think it will change? For what it's worth this is my opinion of our current position and the last 3 games..... Thanks God we defied all the odds and beat Arsenal, Chelsea and Liverpool because if we hadn't we would be looking at almost certain relegation. Brilliant management, coaching and team performance. With Sakho (who incidentally is the best CB I have ever seen at Palace)underpinning a then superb defence with Luca as protection and Cabaye in his now accustomed attacking midfield role with Townsend, Zaha and Benteke performing as we know they are capable of we looked unbeatable and well on the way to picking up a point against Spurs who let's not forget will be playing Champions league football again next season and the only club at that point to have better form. Disaster strikes and we lose Sakho; from that moment on we looked liked we had lost our patrol leader on our first Scout camp! Another centre back down, (number 3) Onto Manchester City without Aguero but still with a huge squad to pick from that Sam can only dream of at present. Given our injury list and dent against Burnley what odds on Palace picking up any points let alone 3? Followed by the big one... Hull at home in front of a passionate and almost certain sell out crowd. Can we produce another display that will get us 3 points or screw up? Who knows but what I do know is that we have a brilliant manager who has been here and got the tee shirt from before who will use all of his experience and man management skills which, will no doubt include mind games to extract the very best from the players in order to deliver. It won't be a cake walk but supporting Palace never is and the roller coaster is still switched on....would you have it any other way??

Bexley Dave Can you hear the Brighton sing? I can't hear a ******* thing! "The most arrogant, obnoxious bunch of deluded little sun tanned, loafer wearing mummy's boys I've ever had the misfortune of having to listen to" (Burnley forum) |

I absolutely expected a loss v Burnley. We were shattered, we struggle to break down well organised defensive teams at home, and because we replaced a world class Sakho with a rusty, aging Damo. We just have to hope the big Irishman has one last hurrah in him or that Swansea/Leicester f***up as they have for much of the season.
If you want to live in a world full of kindness, respect and love, try to show these qualities. |

I feel slightly ashamed of it but I put £20 on Burnley to beat us on Saturday. That's how "Palace" the result was. Burnley not won away all season, us needing the points to be sure of safety, Sakho injured. It was so nailed on. Won me £100 but I'd hand that over right now just to know we are safe!

Whenever we play somebody who hasn't been able to do x,y, or z in a very long time, seems we can always be counted on to oblige.

Based on our recent results we will probably loose at home to Hull (beneath us in league so another banana skin). However - both Man teams are top six and away so Edited by rob1969 (02 May 2017 4.31pm)

Nightmare isn't it, we always do things the hard way.I just live in hope we can get the points as soon as possible. The only good thing is we have got the points on the board and would bet Swansea and Hull fans would prefer to be in our position. Lets hope eh!!!
