Apparently a real fan is one who has 'renewd his season ticket', the rest of us are just plastics.

A real fan is one who donated to the save palace fund and expected nothing in return. Those who buy a season ticket are plastics....if they were real fans they would buy 2.

It was just a joke! In response to the thread title 'Real Fans' - 'I prefer Barca'. Gedditt? TBH I don't give a sh*t about either of them.

Although Barca play in nice colours.

Palace since 19 August 1972. Palace 1 (Tony Taylor) Liverpool 1 (Emlyn Hughes)

Yeah I renewed back then, the thought of 4 extra games for the same price swung it for me, but the fcukers have spoilt it and look like staying up, I demand a re-fund!!

It's difficult to define what being a supporter is. I have followed the Eagles when they were mere Glaziers and the ground was a mud heap. Even then Palace attracted some of the best gates at that level. Would we say all those were supporters or people out for a good afternoons entertainment? Either way, many are still with us.
Then there are the kids in Horsham who wear Liverpool favours and continue to chase glory with the Reds until they pop their clogs. What makes them any less fans than the local ever attended?
To keep an ear on how Palace are doing during a game, no matter where you are, to know who the current squad is and buy the new born nephew Palace nappies is how many follow this club. No matter where they live, no matter whether or how many games they attend.
A taxi driver in Newcastle told
us his blood ran black and white, though, being a taxi driver he rarely went to a match. He also said Pardew was a waste of space with a fixation on Cabaye. How did he know? He just cared enough to have an opinion.
But the best quote goes to a son-in-law, who when I asked . Who do you support? answered, Man City this season, Chelsea last season. Not even worth a plastic description, but who are we to say?

I'm not a real fan - I'm pretty sure I'm a figment of someones imagination.
